Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance is a tribute of the men and women of Maesteg, who have given their lives in the last Century, in the pursuit of peace. It is a work that is not complete, but based on available information so far found and will continue to be refined and updated when further evidence is at hand.

Maesteg town Council are responsible for the eligibility of the individuals included in the document. Some, although are born, lived or buried outside of Maesteg, have been included in the various Rolls of  Honour of the schools of Maesteg, and are therefore included. Some names have yet to be identified in other records, and it is with the help of the community of Maesteg that this will be addressed.

This Book of Remembrance refers to the individuals, of the 'Old Parish', who have already given their lives. It is a record that should inspire and generate a feeling of community, of history and of hope for a proud future.

The Book of Remembrance is to big to display here, but it is available for viewing at the Council chambers in Talbot Street Maesteg.

Maesteg Town Council acknowledges the research undertaken by Robert Bolger which resulted in the publication of this book
